About Us

My adventure started after losing the dog of a life-time, Williepete, who was a 14 yr old chocolate lab.  After losing Willie I had an amazing friend who had me come visit her Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppies, well then along came River.  I made sure to get River in training right away, as there were people in my life telling me i was making a huge mistake getting a chessie, and that chessie's are just not nice dogs.  I decided to prove them wrong, started training and socializing him as soon as he was able too.  It was not long that I realized a new door was opened, and I had an inspirational person in my life.  I have learned so many new things and how well positive reinforcement training can help shape a dogs life is such a good way.  I found myself studying books, watching videos, currently taking online certification courses through Canine Catch Academy, taking every class I could with my trainer (even beginner classes with an advanced dog.)  Now River and I are ready to start our own adventure together, in hopes we can challenge and change someone else's life with their dog, the same that my inspirational person helped me change mine.
